WHAT KIND OF WOOD IS IN MY SET?
We use a large variety of sustainably sourced native hardwood species so that there is an assortment of natural colors, grain patterns, and weight differences. We guarantee 5 - 8 different species in every set, and take great care and pride in hand-picking the sets to create a beautiful variety of color, size and shape. Depending on the available woods we are able to source there can be as many as 12 different wood species in the larger sets!

WOOD SPECIES WE USE:
Black walnut, oak, cherry, cedar, poplar, Osage orange, sassafras, hickory, birch, beech, pear, black locust, sycamore, butternut, Kentucky coffee, spalted hackberry, and box elder.

WHAT FINISH IS ON THE BLOCKS?
We make our own finish from a mix of 100% organic jojoba oil and beeswax, which is non-toxic, natural and safe.
DO YOU PAINT OR STAIN THE BLOCKS?
NO! We never use any paint or stain on our blocks; we want the natural colors of each wood species to come through. We use many different wood species to provide a beautiful, natural mix of colors and textures.
HOW BIG ARE THE BLOCKS?
The blocks all vary in size and shape but measure approximately 2 to 4 inches, and the weight of each block varies depending on the size and species.
CAN THE BLOCKS BE PERSONALIZED?
YES! We can personalize 1 or all of your blocks with any word or logo using laser engraving. You can purchase personalized blocks as an add-on to a set.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY BLOCKS?
You can wipe your blocks with a little vinegar and warm water on a soft cloth, if needed. You can also rub a little jojoba oil on your blocks if they start to lose their luster.
